Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled HGV Technician for a Reading site to service, diagnose and repair a range of heavy commercial vehicles. The role offers a competitive base salary with overtime, a strong bonus structure and clear career progression within a family-owned group.

You will need a valid UK driving licence and ideally an HGV/ LGV/ PCV licence; training and career development are provided.

Qualifications

HGV/heavy vehicle maintenance qualification or proven workshop experience
Experience with servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy vehicles
Ability to work in a busy workshop team
Own a well-stocked toolbox suitable for HGV duties
HGV/LGV/PCV licence advantageous

Responsibilities

Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and maintenance on heavy commercial vehicles
Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and technical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
Completing repairs to manufacturer standards across HGV and commercial vehicle systems
Supporting breakdown, roadside or rota requirements and maintaining high levels of customer service
