Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
• Complete inspections in line with DVSA standards.
• Ensure work is completed safely and records are kept accurately.
• Maintain fleet records and support the workshop team.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established transport company based in Leighton Buzzard.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking for a stable role with the potential to secure a permanent position after an initial temporary period.

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs.
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults.
• Completing inspections in line with DVSA standards.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Maintaining accurate service and repair records.
• Working as part of a professional workshop team to keep the fleet roadworthy.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) are desirable.
• Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.
• A Class 1 or Class 2 licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
