Job summary

DAF Trucks UK Ltd in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Vehicle Technician to work on the Day Shift. You will join a team dedicated to getting the best trucks back on the road quickly by performing diagnostics and precise repairs on trucks, using the most advanced workshop systems and state-of-the-art technology.

This role offers a £2,000 signing bonus for direct applicants, opportunities for training and development, and the chance to take responsibility while ensuring quality checks and mentoring

Qualifications

• A completed secondary vocational education.
• A broad vehicle-related technical knowledge, preferably of DAF products.
• An extensive experience in carrying out repairs and maintenance on trucks, components and associated vehicles.
• Familiarization with developments in the automotive industry.
• You will be required to provide your own tool-kit and be in possession of a valid driving licence (preferably HGV but not essential).

Responsibilities

• You'll be responsible for fast and accurate diagnoses using diagnostic tools and for choosing the right repair techniques.
• You'll work independently to maintain and repair DAF vehicles and components.
• You'll carry out a range of inspections (MOT, tacho, etc.).
• You'll provide support and daily mentoring for less experienced technicians.
• You'll carry out final checks on work that has been completed.
