Job summary

Daf Trucks UK Ltd in Oxford is seeking a Vehicle Technician to work alternating early/late shifts. You will diagnose and repair trucks using state-of-the-art workshop systems and take responsibility for maintenance and repairs on DAF vehicles.

The role includes mentoring less experienced technicians, performing inspections (MOT, tacho), and carrying of final checks. You will need a completed secondary vocational education, broad vehicle knowledge, own toolkit, and a driving licence (HGV

Qualifications

• Completed secondary vocational education.
• Broad vehicle-related technical knowledge, preferably of DAF products.
• Extensive experience in repairs and maintenance on trucks and components.
• Familiarization with developments in the automotive industry.
• Own toolkit and a valid driving licence (preferably HGV but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose trucks using diagnostic tools and select the right repair techniques.
• Maintain and repair DAF vehicles and components independently.
• Carry out inspections (MOT, tacho, etc.).
• Provide mentoring for less experienced technicians.

Our Oxford depot is looking for a Vehicle Technician to work alternating early/late shifts. £2000 Signing Bonus (direct applicants only) Are You 'Made for DAF'? Excellent! Because we're currently looking for talent. Here at DAF, you'll make sure that the best trucks are back on the road as fast as possible when they require maintenance. You'll use the most advanced workshop systems on trucks with state-of-the-art technology. If you enjoy taking on responsibility, then we'll give you the freedom to perform diagnostics and to decide how to carry out maintenance and repairs on trucks. You'll be part of a great team with friendly colleagues.

This is what you'll be doing:

• You'll be responsible for fast and accurate diagnoses using diagnostic tools and for choosing the right repair techniques.
• You'll work independently to maintain and repair DAF vehicles and components.
• You'll carry out a range of inspections (MOT, tacho, etc.).
• You'll provide support and daily mentoring for less experienced technicians.
• You'll carry of final checks on work that has been completed.

• A completed secondary vocational education.
• A broad vehicle-related technical knowledge, preferably of DAF products.
• An extensive experience in carrying out repairs and maintenance on trucks, components and associated vehicles.
• Familiarization with developments in the automotive industry.
• You will be required to provide your own tool-kit and be in possession of a valid driving licence (preferably HGV but not essential).
