Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd in Grantham is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy branch within a reputable commercial vehicle distributor with over 50 years of experience and industry awards.

You will repair and service HGV vehicles to DVSA standards, perform diagnostics, and support a busy team on a 40-hour week with alternating shifts (6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm). This role offers ongoing training and strong career progression.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in HGV Mechanics (City & Guilds preferred).
• Proven experience working on HGVs.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Own set of tools suitable for HGV maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
• Good customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Repair and service HGV vehicles to manufacturer and DVSA standards.
• Perform diagnostic checks to identify faults.
• Inspect vehicles for wear, tear, and general faults.
• Complete maintenance tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Conduct vehicle fault diagnosis and repairs.
• Carry out vehicle inspections and safety checks.
• Provide excellent customer service and communication.
• Ensure all work is completed within specified deadlines.
• Support the team with additional vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
