Job summary

Tru Talent is partnering with a leading commercial vehicle dealership in Grantham to recruit an experienced HGV Technician for their busy workshop.

This full-time role offers excellent earning potential, manufacturer training and clear career progression, with 40-hour weeks on rotating shifts (6:00am–2:00pm / 2:00pm–10:00pm) Monday to Friday. Salary £19.50 per hour (£40,560 per annum) plus overtime at 1.5x OTE (£46,000+).

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds / IMI Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification.
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician or similar.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, trailers and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Carrying out inspections, PMIs and MOT preparation.
• Completing preventative maintenance and warranty paperwork.
• Supporting roadside breakdowns when required.
• Maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.

About You

To be successful as the HGV Technician you will have:

• A Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• A full UK driving licence.
