Job summary

Russell Taylor Group is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our busy Dunstable workshop. You will diagnose, service and repair customer vehicles to a high standard in a hands-on, safety-conscious environment.

The ideal candidate will hold City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in HGV maintenance, have strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, and a valid driving licence. Shift patterns create a varied 44-hour week with early and late shifts.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in HGV maintenance and repair.
• Strong mechanical and electrical repair experience.
• Proficient in fault finding and diagnostic equipment.
• Good understanding of workshop health and safety.
• Clean driving licence; HGV licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs.
• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and scheduled safety inspections.
• Using diagnostic equipment to identify issues and determine the repairs needed.
• Reporting any additional work identified during inspections.
• Working with the Shift Supervisor to plan and complete your daily workload.
• Completing job cards clearly and accurately.
• Taking part in a call-out and breakdown rota if required.

Are you an experienced HGV Technician who enjoys solving faults, working on a variety of jobs and seeing a vehicle leave the workshop ready for the road? We're looking for a skilled technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Dunstable.

You’ll be trusted to diagnose, service and repair customer vehicles to a high standard. It's a hands-on role where your technical ability, attention to detail and approach to safety will make a real difference every day.

What you’ll be doing

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs.
• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and scheduled safety inspections.

What we’re looking for

Work hours

You’ll work 44 hours per week, Monday to Friday, across early and late shifts:

Early: 6:00am - 4:00pm, finishing at 3:00pm on Friday.

Late: 12:00pm - 10:00pm, finishing at 9:00pm on Friday.
