Job summary

Pertemps Black Country Perms is seeking an experienced HGV Diagnostics Technician in Dudley. The role offers a permanent, full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule and no regular weekend work.

You will diagnose and repair faults across electrical, electronic and mechanical systems, using manufacturer diagnostic tools in a modern workshop environment. A strong diagnostic background and HGV experience are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• City & Guilds qualification is desirable.
• Previous HGV or commercial vehicle technician experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HGV and commercial vehicle faults.
• Carry out electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding.
• Use manufacturer diagnostic equipment and software.
• Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Complete vehicle inspections and roadworthiness checks.
• Maintain accurate job sheets and workshop records.
• Work safely and efficiently to maintain vehicle reliability.

HGV Diagnostics Technician - £22-£30 per hour - Dudley - Monday to Friday

Location: Dudley, West Midlands

Pay: £22-£30 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:30pm

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Role:

We are recruiting an experienced HGV Diagnostics Technician for a well-established commercial vehicle maintenance provider in Dudley.

Join a busy, well-equipped workshop working on a modern fleet of heavy goods vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HGV and commercial vehicle faults.
• Carry out electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding.
• Use manufacturer diagnostic equipment and software.
• Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Complete vehicle inspections and roadworthiness checks.
• Maintain accurate job sheets and workshop records.
• Work safely and efficiently to maintain vehicle reliability.

Requirements
