Job summary

Volvo Group is seeking an experienced HGV Technician in Coventry to service, maintain and repair Volvo trucks. You will diagnose faults with advanced equipment and ensure MOT preparation and preventative maintenance meet high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• HGV licence held and suitable NVQ/apprenticeship in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles (HGVs).
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills using advanced equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to Volvo trucks.
• Diagnose faults and rectify using diagnostic equipment.
• Prepare for MOT and perform preventative maintenance.
• Ensure work meets Volvo quality and safety standards.
• Mentor apprentices and trainee technicians.

Job description

As an HGV Technician, you'll play a vital role in keeping our customers on the road by:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to Volvo trucks
• Diagnosing and rectifying faults using advanced diagnostic equipment
• Completing inspections, MOT preparation and preventative maintenance
• Ensuring all work meets Volvo quality and safety standards
• Following safe working practices and PPE requirements
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices and trainee technicians
  HGV Licence
• Volvo Bronze Certification (minimum standard)
• Silver and Gold Technician Accreditation
• Electrical Systems Training Levels 1 & 2
• Advanced Oscilloscope Diagnostics
• E-Mobility & Electric Vehicle Training
• Ongoing Technical & Manufacturer Development Programmes
• Whether you're an experienced technician or looking to build on your existing skills, we’ll help you become the very best in the industry.,
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Previous experience working on HGVs, trucks, buses or commercial vehicles
• OR
• Completed an HGV apprenticeship and looking to continue building your career

We also value transferable expertise from allied industries; candidates with backgrounds as a PSV Technician, PCV Mechanic, Bus and Coach Technician, or a Heavy Plant Mechanic / Plant Technician are strongly encouraged to apply, as full product training on our modern fleet will be provided.
