A leading commercial vehicle company in Nuneaton is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their established workshop. This opportunity suits a qualified HGV or Trailer Technician seeking career development in a supportive environment with ongoing training.

Benefits include a basic rate of £18.00 per hour, £15 daily late shift allowance, overtime at time and a half, Saturday overtime, and extensive leave plus pension and life cover. IRTEC accreditation is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair & Maintenance.
• Proven experience as HGV or Trailer Technician.
• Knowledge of DVSA standards and compliance.
• Full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle types.
• IRTEC accreditation is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct major and minor repairs on HGVs, trailers, and related vehicles.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and plan repairs with the workshop team.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Ensure workshop safety and cleanliness standards.
• Support roadside repair requirements when needed.
• Complete all paperwork and warranty documentation.

Duties of the HGV Technician:

Requirements:

• - Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair & Maintenance (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI)
• - Proven experience as an HGV or Trailer Technician
• - Strong understanding of DVSA standards and compliance
• - Ability to accurately identify worn and defective components
• - Full UK Driving Licence relevant to vehicle types worked on
• - IRTEC accreditation is advantageous but not essential
• - Reliable and professional approach, with a keen eye for detail
