Job summary

Veolia UK is hiring for an operational supervisor at our Merseyside site. You will support the transport supervisor with vehicle allocation, driver planning and performance reviews, while ensuring top-level customer service and efficient contract delivery.

The role requires a recent HGV Class 2 license with CPC and Tachograph card, plus supervisory experience in waste transport. We offer a 4 on 2 off shift pattern and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising transport operations.
• IOSH Managing Safely Level 3 required.
• Leadership or supervisory experience in a similar role.
• HGV Class 2 licence with CPC and Tachograph card.
• Digi tachograph knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist transport supervisor with vehicle and driver planning.
• Deploy vehicles to maximise efficiency across contracts.
• Collaborate with customers and third parties to deliver service.
• Provide hands-on IT support to the team and drive improvements.
• Complete driving assessments and coordinate breakdowns.
• Drive registered vehicles to transport waste and recyclables.
• Maintain paper and digital activity records.

What will you be doing?

• Provide support to the transport supervisor in the allocation of vehicles and drivers through planning and absence controls
• Control operations by strategically deploying vehicles to maximise efficiency across the contract
• Collaborate with colleagues, internal and external customers, and third parties to ensure outstanding customer service
• Provide hands-on IT support to your team; and drive continuous improvement by assessing driver performance and identifying learning opportunities
• Complete driving assessments
• Coordinate breakdown and recovery services
• Drive and operate rigid and when required articulated vehicles (subject to appropriate licence category) to transport waste and recycling materials
• Complete paper and digital records of work activity

What are we looking for?

• Similar operational supervisory experience
• IOSH Managing Safely Level 3
• Team Leadership or equivalent experience
• HGV Class 2 Licence - (Class 1 Licence desirable)
• Up to date CPC and Digi / Tachograph card
