Job summary

Veolia UK in Merseyside, primarily based at Bidston Recycling Centre, CH41 1EB, is seeking an operational supervisor. The role requires shift patterns of 4 on 2 off, 07:45-17:30 in winter and 18:30 on some summer days, with a base salary of £41,220.98 plus a performance bonus (OTE £47,837.33).

You will support the transport supervisor, deploy vehicles for efficiency, liaise with customers and third parties, provide IT assistance to the team, and handle driving duties within licensing rules.

Qualifications

• Similar operational supervisory experience.
• IOSH Managing Safely certification.
• Level 3 Team Leadership or equivalent.
• HGV Class 2 Licence (Class 1 desirable).
• Up to date CPC and Digi / Tachograph card.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the transport supervisor in the allocation of vehicles and drivers through planning and absence controls.
• Control operations by strategically deploying vehicles to maximise efficiency across the contract.
• Collaborate with colleagues, internal and external customers, and third parties to ensure outstanding customer service.
• Provide hands-on IT support to your team; and drive continuous improvement by assessing driver performance and identifying learning opportunities.
• Complete driving assessments.
• Coordinate breakdown and recovery services.
• Drive and operate rigid and when required articulated vehicles (subject to appropriate licence category) to transport waste and recycling materials.
• Complete paper and digital records of work activity.
