Job summary

Adecco is hiring an HGV Refuse Collection Driver to join a team of valued key workers making a positive difference to the environment. With pre-planned routes, set start and finish times, and a focus on safe working practices, this role offers a stable schedule and regular pay.

You'll carry out daily refuse and recycling collections, operate in-cab tech, complete paperwork in real time, and keep vehicles in good condition.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence held with no more than 6 points.
• Driver CPC qualification.
• Ability to assist loaders to complete routes within SLA.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and proactive.
• Willingness to undertake tasks.
• Clean driving licence.
• Previous relevant refuse collection experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily using appropriate machinery.
• Deploy safe lifting and handling techniques for items left for removal.
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed.
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time.
• Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles.
• Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain excellent customer and client relations with the public and other road users.

As a HGV Refuse Collection Driver, you'll:

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job
• Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time
• Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use
• Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users

Your typical working hours will be:

30am to 3.00pm, Monday - Friday

What you'll need to do the role:

• Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points)
• Driver CPC
• Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated
• Willingness to undertake tasks
• Clean drivers licence
• Previous relevant experience desirable, but not essential
