Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Refuse/Recycling Operative in Basingstoke to perform programmed and responsive refuse and recycling duties with proficient machinery operation. You will ensure contract compliance and report progress to your line manager, adapting schedules for interruptions and using in-cab tech for real-time updates.

The role requires a valid HGV (C) licence with <=6 points and a Driver CPC, with prior refuse & recycling experience considered a plus. A strong emphasis on teamwork, safety, and professional customer interactions is essential.

Qualifications

• Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).

Responsibilities

• Carry out programmed refuse & recycling duties with machinery operation.

Join Our Team as a Refuse/Recycling Operative!

Location: Basingstoke | Hourly Rate: £16.83 | Full-Time Shift: 06:00 - 14:30, Mon-Fri

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out programmed and responsive refuse & recycling duties with expertise in machinery operation.
• Understand and meet Contract requirements, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Identify key performance indicators and report progress to your line manager.
• Adapt work schedules to manage interruptions (road closures, weather, etc.) and complete programmed rounds.
• Utilise in-cab technology for real-time reporting and updates.
• Collaborate with your team to suggest improvements in service provision.
• Conduct daily inspections of machinery, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Engage with the public, maintaining excellent customer relations and a professional appearance.

What You'll Need:

• HGV (C Driving Licence) with no more than 6 points.
• Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Previous experience in refuse & recycling is a plus!
