Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Casual HGV Refuse Collection Driver / Loader in Mid Sussex, England. You will carry out refuse and recycling collections, use in-cab tech, and complete paperwork while maintaining vehicle cleanliness.

Starting hours are early with overtime opportunities; weekly pay and on-site parking are provided. A valid HGV Class 2 licence (≤6 points) and Driver CPC are required, along with good communication and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily.
• Undertake duties with safe lifting and handling procedures.
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed.
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time.
• Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles.
• Ensure cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain excellent customer relations with the public and clients.

Salary: GBP17.68 - GBP17.68 per hour

Your typical working hours will be:

• 7am to 3.30pm, Monday – Friday
• Overtime opportunities available

As a HGV Refuse Collection Driver, you’ll:

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job
• Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time
• Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use
• Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor user

What you’ll need to do the role:

• Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points)
• Driver CPC
• Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated
• Willingness to undertake tasks
