Job summary

Streamline Search Limited is recruiting an On-Site HGV Refrigeration Engineer to maintain refrigerated vehicles and keep the fleet operational. The role requires hands-on experience with fridges and refrigeration systems and includes servicing, fault diagnosis, and preventative maintenance across HGVs, trailers and vans.

The position is permanent and on-site with 28 days' holiday. Join a busy transport operation and contribute to minimising downtime while ensuring compliance and quality service

Qualifications

• Experience with refrigerated vehicles or refrigeration systems.
• F-Gas certification or equivalent refrigeration qualification.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
• Ability to complete maintenance paperwork and records.
• Detail-oriented and hands-on with practical approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining refrigeration units on HGVs, trailers and vans
• Diagnosing and repairing refrigeration faults
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and routine inspections
• Working on fridge/freezer units across the fleet
• Identifying mechanical and refrigeration issues and resolving them efficiently
• Completing service sheets, maintenance records and relevant paperwork
• Keeping accurate records of repairs, servicing and parts used
• Ensuring all maintenance documentation is completed accurately and kept up to date
• Helping minimise vehicle downtime across the fleet

Job Title: HGV Refrigeration Engineer

Location: Rotherham
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience £40,000 - £45,000
Hours: 07:00 - 16:00

We are currently recruiting for an On-Site Fridge Engineer / Transport Refrigeration Engineer to join an established transport and logistics operation with a fleet of 50+ HGVs and trailers, including refrigerated vehicles.

HGV Refrigeration Engineer - The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping the company's refrigerated vehicles operational and ensuring refrigeration units are maintained to a high standard.

Key responsibilities:

• Servicing and maintaining refrigeration units on HGVs, trailers and vans
• Diagnosing and repairing refrigeration faults
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and routine inspections
• Working on fridge/freezer units across the commercial vehicle fleet
• Identifying mechanical and refrigeration issues and resolving them efficiently
• Completing service sheets, maintenance records and relevant paperwork

HGV Refrigeration Engineer - About You

We are looking for someone who is mechanically minded and has practical experience working with refrigerated vehicles or refrigeration systems.

• Previous experience as a Fridge Engineer, Refrigeration Engineer or Transport Refrigeration Engineer
• Experience working on commercial vehicles, HGVs, trailers or vans
• F-Gas certification or relevant refrigeration gas qualification
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability
• Comfortable completing maintenance paperwork and service documentation
• Good attention to detail when recording work carried out
• A practical, hands-on approach
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
