Job summary

Command Recruitment is sourcing an HGV Prep Technician for Swindon. You will prepare HGVs to the highest standards, carry out servicing, PDIs and health checks, and perform minor repairs and documentation tasks.

The role offers flexible hours and shifts (day, late, night) with strong progression to senior technician roles. The package includes £38,000-£40,000 basic + £6,000 bonus, with OTE £44,000-£46,000 and potential to exceed £60,000 as you advance.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV Prep Technician or related role.
• Level 3 qualification preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence.

The Role

You'll be responsible for preparing HGVs to the highest standards, including:

• Servicing and routine maintenance

• Pre-delivery inspections (PDIs)

• Vehicle health checks

• Minor repairs and rectification work

• Replacing service items including brakes, filters and fluids

• Completing workshop documentation accurately

What We're Looking For

• Experience as an HGV Prep Technician, HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician

• Level 3 qualification preferred (or equivalent experience)

• Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail

• Full UK driving licence

• Positive attitude and willingness to develop
