Job summary

JT Recruit is seeking a Mechanic/Technician for our transport operations team in Croft. You will service, repair and maintain light and heavy vehicles and plant equipment to keep fleets safe and roadworthy.

You will diagnose faults, perform inspections and MOT testing, keep accurate records, and follow health and safety procedures. The role involves mentoring apprentices and supporting workshop efficiency.

Experience in a workshop or garage and a Full UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

Experience in a workshop or garage.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Good organisation and time management.
Knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance (cars/HGVs/plant).
Understanding of health & safety practices.
Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Servicing, maintaining, and repairing light and heavy vehicles and plant equipment.
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
Carrying out inspections, servicing, and MOT testing.
Completing repairs to a high standard.
Keeping accurate job records and paperwork.
Following all health & safety procedures.
Supporting and mentoring apprentices.
Helping improve workshop efficiency and productivity.
