Job summary

The Best Connection – Eastbourne Branch is currently recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 Night Driver to support trunking operations for a major transport client. Shifts begin at 19:00 and run through the night with regular Friday pay.

You will perform vehicle checks, complete paperwork, and ensure compliance with driver hours regulations. CPC and Digital Tachograph card are required; 6 months of Class 1 experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Licence required.
• CPC and Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Minimum 6 months of recent Class 1 experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of driver regulations and working time directives.

Responsibilities

• Trunking to and from distribution hubs (no handball).
• Ensure safe and secure transport of goods.
• Complete vehicle checks before and after each shift.
• Accurate completion of paperwork and logbooks.
• Adhere to road safety and driver hours regulations.
• Communicate delays or issues between hub and transport office.

Requirements:

• Valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Licence.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 6 months of recent Class 1 experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of driver regulations and working time directives.
• Strong attention to detail and timekeeping.
