Job summary

A major Commercial Vehicle manufacturer is looking for a number of Mechanics - Technicians for their busy workshop. Must have mechanical or technician background with experience in commercial vehicles or related fields. Full training provided.

The role offers shifts from 6am to 2:30pm, 7am to 3:30pm or 1pm to 10pm, with lots of overtime and benefits including 25 days holiday, life assurance, pension contributions up to 5%, private medical insurance, and bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have a mechanical or technician background in commercial vehicles, plant, vans, cars, agricultural or any other vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed vehicle inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Assess issues related to engines, transmissions, brake systems, and other critical components of HGVs.
• Conduct repairs on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and suspension.
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire checks and replacements, and fluid top-ups.
• Implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and enhance vehicle reliability.
• Monitor and record vehicle performance to anticipate potential problems and schedule timely interventions.
• Communicate repairs and maintenance needs with Workshop Controller and services team.
• Keep abreast of latest developments in HGV technology and repair techniques.
