Job description

HGV Mechanic, Full-time 40 hours per week

Based in our vehicle maintenance unit (VMU) at our depot in Blairlinn, Cumbernauld.

Within this role, you will receive £20.70 per hour.

The Shift Pattern Includes:

Monday to Friday: 11:30am - 8:00pm

Saturday to Sunday: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Please note that you will be required to work one out of four weekends.

The role involves:

  1. Maintaining the fleet of vehicles and trailers, including Mercedes, Renault, and Scania tractor units, as well as multi-temperature trailers, curtain sliders, and box trailers.
  2. Carrying out inspections, repairs, and testing.
  3. Diagnosing faults.

Qualifications and experience required:

  1. Level 3 City & Guilds in Maintenance of Heavy Goods Vehicles (or equivalent).
  2. Experience with diagnostic equipment and fault tracing to achieve first-time repairs.
  3. MOT preparation experience.
