Job summary

PR Recruitment & Training Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Fitter/Plant Mechanic for an Afternoon Shift with flexible start time in Leicester. You will diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across HGVs and trailers.

Key duties include completing inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing complex faults, attending breakdowns on-site or by phone, and maintaining accurate job sheets and parts records.

Qualifications

• 4+ years’ experience as an HGV or plant mechanic.
• IRTEC certification.
• Welding/fabrication skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, LOLER and hooklift (RORO) equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs and trailers.
• Complete inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Attend breakdowns – phone diagnostics, roadside and customer sites.
• Maintain accurate job sheets, inspection reports and parts records.
• Communicate repair progress, timeframes and parts needed.
• Follow all company safety procedures.

Our client is looking for an experienced HGV Fitter/Plant Mechanic (Afternoon Shift - flexible start time). You will be required to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across HGV's and Trailers.

• Complete inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose and repair complex faults
• Repair/replace engines, transmissions, brakes,
• Attend breakdowns - phone diagnostics, roadside and customer sites
• Maintain accurate job sheets, inspection reports and parts records
• Communicate clearly on repair progress, timeframes and parts needed
• Follow all company safety procedures

Suitable candidates will have:

• 4+ years’ experience as an HGV and/or plant mechanic
• IRTEC certification
• Welding/fabrication skills
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, LOLER and hooklift (RORO) equipment
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Willing to learn and develop
• Positive, proactive approach
• High attention to detail
• Team player with a desire to grow
