Job summary

Recruitment Helpline Ltd is seeking an experienced HGV Fitter/Mechanic to join a well-established family-run operation in Chadwell St Mary, Grays. You will service and repair HGV fleets in a brand-new workshop, applying precision fittings and quality checks.

The role is full-time and permanent, Monday to Friday with potential for overtime at enhanced rates. A minimum of 5 years' experience and relevant qualifications required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
• Solid mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all mechanical work to HGVs (Scania) ensuring roadworthiness.
• Utilise hand tools and power tools to complete tasks efficiently.
• Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace in line with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and resolve issues during production.

£25.00 - £30.00 Per Hour, Depending on Experience.

Chadwell St Mary RM16.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 6am-5pm (Can be flexible if needed) with weekend work & overtime at enhanced rate always available if interested.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling components using various tools and techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work with precision in a fast-paced environment. The Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all products meet quality standards and specifications, working in our brand-new workshop as part of an established team.

Key Duties

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
• Must have minimum 5 years' experience and relevant qualifications
• Class 1 licence not essential but would be an advantage.
