Location: Glastonbury, Somerset

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 depending on experience

What will you be responsible for?

As a HGV Mechanic, you'll work within the Transport team, supporting them by working on HGVs, LGVs, and vans. Your responsibilities include performing truck repair and maintenance in accordance with factory and industry standards, running diagnostics, and collaborating closely with team members.

Your daily tasks will include:

1. Carrying out preventative vehicle maintenance and servicing, MOT preparation and repairs, replacing defective parts, and resolving faults, all in a safe and timely manner exceeding DVSA standards.
2. Diagnosing and rectifying faults using specialist diagnostic equipment.
3. Road testing vehicles, preparing them for testing (licence dependent), and completing administrative tasks such as record keeping.
4. Being on call during winter months for vehicle breakdowns and supporting our fleet of gritters across Somerset.

What are we looking for?

This role is ideal if:

• You have an NVQ Level 2 or are fully qualified, and hold a HGV driving licence (training can be provided).
• You have previous experience as a vehicle technician.
• You are comfortable maintaining plant and machinery.
