We're looking for a HGV Mechanic to join our Transportation team based in Glastonbury. Within this role, you can enjoy a fantastic pension scheme, a competitive annual holiday entitlement, and more.

Location: Glastonbury, Somerset
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 depending on experience
As a HGV Mechanic, you'll work within the Transport team, supporting vehicle maintenance and repairs on HGVs, LGVs, and vans. Your duties include performing repairs in accordance with industry standards, running diagnostics, and collaborating with team members.
Your daily tasks will include:
- Carrying out preventative maintenance, MOT preparation, repairs, and replacing defective parts, ensuring all work exceeds DVSA standards
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults using diagnostic equipment
- Road testing vehicles and supporting vehicle testing (licence dependent), along with administrative record keeping
- Being on call during winter months for vehicle breakdowns, supporting our fleet of gritters across Somerset
This role is ideal if:
- You have an NVQ Level 2 qualification or are fully qualified, and hold an HGV driving licence (training can be provided)
- You have previous experience as a vehicle technician
- You are comfortable maintaining plant and machinery
