Job summary
Amey’s Surrey Heath Depot is recruiting a permanent HGV Technician to maintain a fleet of waste, municipal, and light commercial vehicles on site. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and prepare vehicles for MOT in line with DVSA standards.

Qualifications
- Experience maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles incl. municipal and waste fleets.
- COSHH and safety compliance knowledge essential.
- IOSH/WHS training or certification desirable.
- City & Guilds/IRTEC/NVQ certification in vehicle maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Utilise diagnostic tools to identify faults and perform repairs.
- Dismantle and overhaul vehicle components to restore condition.
- Complete maintenance across diverse vehicles and plant equipment.
- Record job cards and inspections using tablets and PDA devices.
- Conduct road tests to confirm safety and performance.
- Follow health and safety policies and maintain a clean workshop.
- Assist with roadside breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Upskill with latest technologies through ongoing training.
- Address nonconformances promptly.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections.
