Job summary

New Resource Group in Devizes is seeking an experienced LGV Technician to maintain and repair a varied fleet of heavy goods vehicles in a well-equipped workshop. You'll perform servicing, diagnostics, inspections and repairs to keep vehicles safe and available for daily operations.

You'll work alongside an experienced engineering team, with DVSA standards knowledge and a focus on high workmanship. A Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification is desirable, and a UK driving licence is

Qualifications

  • Previous experience maintaining HGVs or commercial vehicles.
  • Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) desirable.
  • Knowledge of DVSA inspection standards and vehicle compliance.
  • Proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence; HGV licence advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on the HGV fleet.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
  • Complete MOT preparation and ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant.
  • Respond to breakdowns and minimise vehicle downtime.
  • Accurately complete job sheets and maintenance records.
  • Work safely and maintain high standards of workmanship.

Job description

The Company Our client is a long-established environmental services business operating across Wiltshire and the South West. With a modern fleet of HGVs supporting waste management, recycling, aggregates and specialist environmental services, they continue to invest heavily in their workshop, equipment and engineering team. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced LGV Technician to join their workshop in Devizes.

The Role

As an LGV Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a varied fleet of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and available for daily operations. This is a hands-on role involving servicing, diagnostics, inspections and repairs, working within a well-equipped workshop alongside an experienced engineering team.

Responsibilities

About You

We're interested in candidates from backgrounds such as LGV Technician, HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Fleet Technician or PSV Technician.

You should have:
