Job summary

Alecto Recruitment is recruiting for an HGV Fitter/Technician in Sidcup. The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 45 paid hours per week, with overtime opportunities and a competitive hourly rate of £16–£21 depending on experience.

You will inspect, service and repair a range of commercial vehicles in a modern workshop, performing diagnostics and fault finding to keep fleets safe and compliant.

Qualifications

• Experience working with HGVs, LGVs and other commercial vehicles.
• Ability to diagnose faults and perform repairs in a busy workshop.
• Familiar with servicing, maintenance and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs.
• Service and maintain HGVs, trailers and specialist vehicles.
• Carry out inspections and safety checks to ensure compliance.

The Role

Working in a modern workshop, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of a varied range of commercial vehicles and equipment.

You could be working on:

• HGVs / LGVs / Heavy Goods Vehicles
• Heavy commercial vehicles
• Trailers
• Buses / coaches
• Specialist commercial vehicles
• Structural chassis repairs
• Mechanical repairs and maintenance
• Vehicle diagnostics and fault finding

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and completing repairs
• Servicing and maintaining HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Carrying out inspections and safety checks
• Repairing and maintaining trailers and specialist vehicles
• Structural and chassis repair work
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

What We're Looking For

Experience working with HGVs, LGVs, commercial vehicles, heavy vehicles, trailers, buses, coaches, vans, chassis repairs, vehicle maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, mechanical repairs or fleet maintenance would be highly relevant.
