Job summary

Whistl UK Ltd North is seeking experienced HGV Drivers (Class 1 or 2) for long-term roles in a modern fleet. You will operate pre-planned routes, perform carrier-injection tasks, and represent the Whistl brand, delivering goods on time and in perfect condition.

We offer 42 guaranteed hours per week, overtime opportunities up to £9,750 annually, weekend allowances, night-shift premiums, and in-house CPC renewals at no cost, plus a pension and health plans.

Qualifications

• A valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) licence.
• CPC qualification (renewals covered by Whistl).
• Digital tachograph card.
• Clean driving record with knowledge of traffic laws.
• Able to handle physical demands.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Excellent time management and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HGV vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Deliver goods to designated locations on time.

Working Hours

• 42 hours guaranteed, with overtime paid after 42 hours at £23.46
• Night Shift Class 1 - 8 pm
• Class 2 Days- 9:30 am

About the Role

As a Whistl HGV Driver, you’ll be responsible for transporting goods on pre-planned, designated routes. We operate a collection and injection to carrier model, giving you a more structured and predictable day.

You’ll be representing the Whistl brand, delivering exceptional service with every journey and helping ensure our customers’ goods arrive on time and in perfect condition.

As An HGV Driver At Whistl, You Will

• Operate and maintain HGV vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Ensure the timely and secure delivery of goods to designated locations.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Provide exceptional customer service,
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues.

Requirements

• A valid Class 1 (Cat C+E) - Class 2 (Cat C) licence
• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification (the cost of renewals required during employment will be covered by Whistl)
• Digital tachograph card
• Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents and a strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
• Ability to handle physical demands
• Good communication skills to quickly understand instructions and liaise effectively with colleagues and customers
• Exceptional time management and organisational skills
