Job summary

Whistl Ltd North is seeking an experienced HGV Driver to join our team. You will operate Class 1 (Cat C+E) or Class 2 (Cat C) vehicles on pre-planned routes, ensuring on-time deliveries and accurate paperwork.

We offer 42 guaranteed hours per week with overtime earnings, in-house CPC renewal training, a pension, health plan, life assurance, and career development opportunities. A strong driving record and excellent time management are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (Cat C+E) or Class 2 (Cat C) licence.
• CPC qualification required and renewals covered by employer.
• Digital tachograph card and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HGVs safely on designated routes.
• Ensure timely, secure delivery and accurate paperwork.
• Provide exceptional customer service and liaise with colleagues.
• Adhere to traffic laws and report maintenance issues.
• Complete necessary documentation promptly.

We operate a collection and injection to carrier model, giving you a more structured and predictable day. You'll be representing the Whistl brand, delivering exceptional service with every journey and helping ensure our customers' goods arrive on time and in perfect condition. As an HGV Driver at Whistl, you will:

• Operate and maintain HGV vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Ensure the timely and secure delivery of goods to designated locations.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues.

Essential Skills

• A valid Class 1 (Cat C+E) -Class 2 (Cat C) licence
• CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification (the cost of renewals required during employment will be covered by Whistl)
• Digital tachograph card
• Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents and a strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
• Ability to handle physical demands
• Good communication skills to quickly understand instructions and liaise effectively with colleagues and customers
• Exceptional time management and organisational skills
