Job summary

Pertemps Crewe is seeking experienced HGV Weekend Drivers for a busy Stoke-on-Trent depot. This role is weekend-only in a 24-hour operation, with pay ranging from £21.44 to £24.57 per hour (PAYE) and duties averaging 10 to 12 hours.

Candidates must have a valid C+E licence, CPC card, digital tachograph card, and at least 1 year of Class 1 experience, with up-to-date work in the last six months. A maximum of six penalty points applies.

• Minimum 1 year HGV Class 1 driving experience, with recent work in last 6 months.
• Valid C+E licence, CPC card, and digital tachograph card.
• Maximum of 6 penalty points, no major endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Safely loading and unloading cages of letters and parcels.
• Working with single and double-deck trailers, with some pushing and pulling.
• Average 10-12 hour shifts.
• 24-hour operation with varying start times.
• Weekend shifts are essential.

Job description

Pertemps Crewe seeks experienced HGV Drivers for weekend work at a busy depot in Stoke-on-Trent.

This full-time or part-time contract pays £21.44 to £24.57 per hour (PAYE), with duties averaging 10 to 12 hours across various start times in a 24-hour operation.

Responsibilities include safely loading and unloading cages of letters and parcels, handling single and double-deck trailers, and some pushing and pulling. Weekday shifts are available, though weekend availability is essential.

HGV Class 1 Weekend Drivers Pertemps are looking for an experienced HGV Driver / LGV1 Driver / Class 1 Driver / C+E Driver to join our client’s busy depot based in Stoke-on-Trent. This is for weekend work only.

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Pay rates: From £21.44 to £24.57 per hour (PAYE)

Hours: 10 – 12-hour duties

• Safely loading and unloading cages of letters and parcels
• Working with both single and double-deck trailers, with some pushing and pulling involved
• Average 10 - 12-hour shifts
• Various start times as this is a 24-hour operation
• Week days are available but must be able to also work over the weekend

• Minimum 1 years’ HGV Class 1 driving experience , with recent Class 1 work within the last 6 months
• A valid C+E licence, CPC card, and digital tachograph card
• A maximum of 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
