Job summary

Pertemps Stoke on Trent is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for a busy Stoke-on-Trent depot. The role offers PAYE pay rates from £21.44 to £24.57 per hour, with 10–12 hour shifts and 24-hour operation including weekend work.

You will safely load/unload parcels, work with single and double-deck trailers, hold a valid C+E licence, CPC, tachograph card, and up to 6 penalty points. Regular ongoing work with flexible start times is available from November.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year HGV Class 1 driving experience, with recent Class 1 work within the last 6 months.
• A valid C+E licence, CPC card, and digital tachograph card.
• A maximum of 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).

Responsibilities

• Safely loading and unloading cages of letters and parcels.
• Working with both single and double-deck trailers, with some pushing and pulling involved.
• Average 10–12 hour shifts.
• Various start times as this is a 24-hour operation.
• Weekend work is also required for this role.
