Job summary

Route Delivery Solutions (RDS) Ltd in Warrington is seeking a Class 1 HGV driver for night trunking roles. You will be home the same day with no loading/unloading, delivering trailers using route navigation apps, and performing daily vehicle checks.

Requirements include a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence, Digital Tachograph, CPC, and the ability to pass CRB and drugs/alcohol tests. Weekend/evening shifts apply and you must have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Use route navigation apps and local knowledge to deliver trailers between pick-up and destination.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report issues to the manager.
• Maintain daily logs of routes and deliveries electronically.
• Driver duties do not include loading or unloading.
• Traction work: drop/swap trailers, approx. 3 swaps per shift with boxed trailers.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Hold a valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
• Hold a Digital Tachograph
• Full CPC qualification
• Must be able to pass a CRB background check
• Must be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
• Must be able to work weekends
• Must be able to work evening shifts
• Must have right to work in the U.K
• Must have good working knowledge of EU drivers’ hours and regulations
• Your driver’s licence MUST have NO more than 3pts & NO pre-existing codes within 5 years - CD, IN, DD, TT, MS, DR

WHAT YOU ARE REQUIRED TO DO

• Use route navigation apps and knowledge of area to deliver trailers from pick up to destination
• Complete daily maintenance checks on delivery trucks and notify manager of any issues
• Maintain daily electronic logs to track routes and deliveries
• Driver is not required to assist with any loading or unloading
• Traction work only- drop/swap trailers. On average 3 swaps per shift, working with boxed trailers only
