Job summary

Driver Hire Manchester South is seeking 4 experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for night trunking roles in the Manchester area (Wythenshawe & Manchester Airport). Duties include trunking with no handball, securing loads, and daily vehicle checks, with support from a professional transport planning team.

The role requires CPC and tachograph cards, full UK licence (1+ year), and a clean record (≤6 points). Weekly pay, pension, and permanent opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 points; no DD/DR/IN/TT on licence.
• Knowledge of Road Transport Laws and safe driving practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive trunking routes with no handball required.

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report progress to Transport Manager.

Role: HGV Class 1 Driver – NIGHTS TRUNKING

The Job: Trunking Runs, no handball

Location: Manchester (Wythenshawe & Airport)

Salary: £20.34 per hour on days, inclusive of holiday pay (£18.15 with accrued holiday pay)

Working Hours: Nights, start between the hours of 17:00 and 19:00

Experience: Minimum 1-year HGV Class 1 Driver experience

We are looking for 4 experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our client's team in Wythenshawe & Manchester Airport. This is desirable, trunking work for our well-established and well-liked client. You will follow the route planned for you, prepared by a professional team of Transport planners. Work independently on simple trunking runs with no handball.

HGV Class 1 Driver Duties include:

• Driving company vehicle responsibly and safely, obeying all traffic laws
• Securing loads using Ratchet straps
• Daily vehicle checks to ensure procedural compliance.
• Maintaining regular contact with Transport Manager on daily progress

HGV Class 1 Driver Requirements:

• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• No more than 6 points (No DD's, DR's, IN's, TT's)
• Full UK Driving licence, held for 1 years
• Knowledge of Road Transport Laws - and commitment to safe use of the roads
