Job summary

Serco Limited in Sandwell is hiring an HGV Refuse and Recycling Driver to deliver a full waste and recycling service to local residents and businesses. You will follow a pre-planned route with loaders, perform safety checks, and represent Serco in the community.

The role requires a valid Class 1 or 2 licence, CPC, and good physical fitness. A customer-focused, team-based approach helps achieve targets and maintain high standards across the service.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 1 or 2 driving licence and a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
• Physically fit and healthy due to nature of the work.
• Able to work as part of a professional, friendly team.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV to collect waste and recycling from residential and commercial properties following a pre-planned route.
• Be the public face of Serco in the community; perform vehicle safety checks and keep the truck clean and ready.
• Work with loaders to complete rounds efficiently and hit targets while delivering a high standard of customer service.

Working hours: 37, Monday to Thursday 05.30 to 13.30pm, Friday 05.30 to 13.00pm

Join our Sandwell team as an HGV Refuse and Recycling Driver and play a vital role in keeping your community clean, safe, and sustainable.

Working alongside a professional and friendly team, you'll deliver a full waste and recycling service to local residents and businesses. Your efforts will help maintain high standards across the community while providing excellent customer service every step of the way.

You'll be entrusted to:

• Complete a pre-planned route as the driver, with your team of loaders, collecting waste and recycling from residential homes and commercial properties.
• Be the public face of Serco in the community. Ensure that your vehicle safety checks are completed and that your truck is clean and work ready, before setting off on your round
• In our team, we all pitch in! As well as driving the lorry, you'll work alongside our loaders too - staying active and helping to get things done quickly and efficiently.
