Job summary

Veolia Dover is seeking a HGV Driver/Loader to join our team in Dover, Kent. You will drive to collection locations, load waste, and perform daily checks using onboard technology. Maintaining safety, policy compliance, and teamwork will be essential to success in this role.

The position offers regular working hours, full-time status, and opportunities for training and career development within Veolia. A CPC/DIGI card and UK driving license are required.

Qualifications

• HGV Driving Licence required.
• CPC/DIGI card up-to-date preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills required.
• Good time management essential.

Responsibilities

• Drive to planned collection locations and load recycling and domestic waste.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and record notes using onboard tech.
• Comply with traffic laws and keep the work environment safe and clean.
• Work with the team to ensure daily information is completed from the onboard service.
• Ensure spills are cleaned and Veolia contractual obligations are met.

HGV Driver/Loader

Hours - 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:00 - 15:30

Location: Dover Depot, Tower Hamlets Road, Dover, Kent CT17 0BL

Pay: £36,917.24

What you'll be doing;

• Driving to planned collection locations and loading recycling and domestic waste into the vehicle.
• Complete daily checks of the vehicle and use the onboard technology to complete work notes.
• Comply with all traffic laws and legislation and ensure their work environment is safe and clean at all times.
• Working closely with your team to ensure that all-round information is completed daily from your onboard service.
• Ensuring that Veolia complies with their contractual obligations e.g. any spillages are cleaned up.

What we're looking for;

Essential

• HGV Driving Licence
• An up-to-date CPC / DIGI card.
• Ability to work well as a team member, with excellent communication skills.
• Strong time management skills are essential

Desirable

• Local geographical knowledge is highly desirable
• Prior Experience in the waste industry
