Job summary

Driver Hire Preston is seeking six professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Drivers to support our logistics operations. You will deliver goods safely and efficiently to a range of locations, providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of vehicle care.

We offer on-site parking, temporary and permanent positions, and subsidised CPC training to help you grow in your role and stay compliant with industry requirements.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence with at least 1 year of driving experience.
• Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph cards.
• No more than six penalty points on licence.
• Sound knowledge of driving regulations and vehicle inspection procedures.
• Reliable, punctual and customer-focused.
• Good communication with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 2 HGVs safely and comply with road traffic laws and company policies.
• Carry out pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report defects promptly.
• Load and unload goods safely and secure loads for transit.
• Plan efficient delivery routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Maintain delivery notes, manifests and driving records accurately.
• Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers and colleagues.

Driver Hire Preston is recruiting six professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Drivers to support our logistics operations. You will deliver goods safely and efficiently to a range of locations, providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of vehicle care.

Key responsibilities

• Operate Class 2 HGVs safely, complying with road traffic laws, transport regulations and company policies.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
• Load and unload goods safely, ensuring loads are secured correctly to prevent damage during transit.
• Plan efficient delivery routes and meet agreed delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate delivery notes, manifests and driving records.
• Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers and colleagues, providing timely updates on deliveries or delays.
• Keep vehicles clean and presentable, representing Driver Hire professionally at every delivery.

Essential requirements

• A valid UK-issued HGV Class 2 licence, held for at least one year.
• Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph cards.
• No more than six penalty points on your driving licence.
• A sound understanding of driving regulations, road safety and vehicle inspection procedures.
• A reliable, punctual approach and a strong commitment to customer service.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
