Job summary

Enva is seeking a reliable HGV Driver – Class 2 for a permanent full-time role in Bilsthorpe. You will securely collect and deliver waste materials, perform daily vehicle checks, and ensure compliance with tachograph and ADR regulations.

The role includes 45 hours per week with potential overtime and overnights, plus a pension and life insurance package. There is a Monday-to-Friday pattern with a competitive holiday allowance and various employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 license (UK)
• Clean driving record (3 points or less preferred)
• Solid understanding of EU & WTD Tachograph Regulations and Operator Licence obligations
• Good knowledge of UK geography and Highway Code
• ADR knowledge desirable with funded training available

Responsibilities

• Safely collect and deliver waste materials to customer premises.
• Complete daily pre- and post-use vehicle safety checks; maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Ensure adherence to traffic laws, Tachograph requirements, and ADR regulations.
• Act as on-site representative for Enva and advise customers on waste storage and new requirements.
• Report near misses or hazards per health and safety rules.

• Competitive Pay: Basic hourly rate of £16.50 per hour, with average earnings tracking between £43,000 and £48,000 once overtime, training, and tramping/overnight bonuses are included.

• Clean Record: Valid Driver’s license. 3 points or less is highly preferred, but up to a maximum of 6 points may be considered depending on the nature of the offenses (e.g. mobile phone offenses will not be accepted).
• Compliance Knowledge: Solid understanding of EU & WTD Tachograph Regulations and Operator Licence obligations.
• Road Savvy: Good geographical knowledge of mainland UK and a strong grasp of the Highway Code.
• Mindset: A proactive, safety-first attitude with high integrity and a professional approach.
• Flexibility: Willingness to undertake 1 to 3 overnights (tramping) per week depending on changing operational needs (more nights are available if you want them)!

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Transport: Securely collect and deliver waste materials (including hazardous streams like batteries, oil, filters, and plastics) to and from customer premises.
• Vehicle Care: Complete daily pre- and post-use vehicle safety checks, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and reporting any faults promptly.
• Compliance: Ensure absolute adherence to traffic legislation, Tachograph requirements, and ADR regulations at all times.
• Customer Face: Act as the key on-site representative for Enva, helping customers store waste correctly and relaying any new requirements back to line managers.
• Safety First: Report any near misses or hazards immediately and strictly follow both Enva and customer site health and safety rules.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Hours & Shifts: 45 hours per week guaranteed, with plenty of opportunity for additional overtime. Typical shift start windows are between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive customer relationships.
• Organization: Highly organised with excellent time management, a great eye for detail, and strong organisational skills.
• Problem Solving: Solution-focused approach to handling on-site complaints or conflicts smoothly.
• Desirable: Experience working within the waste or recycling industry.
• Desirable (Training Funded): ADR certification is highly desirable. However, if you do not currently hold an ADR, full training and funding can be provided for the right candidate.
