Job summary

Pall-Ex Dorset is recruiting a Class 1 Driver to join our night shift at the Christchurch depot. You will work as part of a tight-knit team within an award-winning Pallet Network, delivering reliability and superb service.

We offer a salary of £42,000 per year with on-target earnings up to £49,000, 23 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, a strong pension with life assurance, wellbeing support, volunteer days, on-site parking and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Class 1 Driving Licence
• Driver CPC qualification card
• Completed required DCLC training hours
• Excellent customer facing skills
• Good knowledge of UK geography
• Confidence to problem solve
• Integrity and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Drive to a safe standard, considering the size of the vehicle
• Keep within the speed limits for the type and size of the vehicle you are driving
• Ensure Vehicle daily checks are completed and that any defects are reported
• Report any issues and collect all paperwork from the Traffic Office
• Carry out deliveries in accordance with the planned route, contacting the Traffic Office immediately if any issues arise that impact your delivery schedule
• Contact the Traffic Office when all deliveries have been made for instructions on collections
• Return all paperwork to the Traffic Office at the end of each shift
• Wear the supplied uniform and correct PPE for each task as required by the Health & Safety Executive

Role Specific Responsibilities

• Basic requirements as identified in the RHA Professional Drivers Handbook
• Drive to a safe standard, considering the size of the vehicle
• Keep within the speed limits for the type and size of the vehicle you are driving
