Job summary

Brakes in Warrington is hiring an HGV Class 1 driver to join our Supply Chain and Operations team. You will deliver bulk products to depots and customer premises, with some loading/unloading and a rotating 4–6 day schedule totaling about 45 hours weekly.

The role requires a qualified HGV driver with Class 1 experience and strong teamwork to liaise with the distribution team. Induction and ongoing coaching support your development at Brakes.

Qualifications

• Qualified HGV Driver with experience driving class 1 vehicles.
• Experience delivering bulk/trunking goods is preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication on distribution teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bulk products to depots and customers.
• Assist with loading/unloading at sites as required.

Typical working pattern of 4 to 6 days per week on a rotating schedule.

Starts between 05:00 and 12pm depending on the assigned route- 45 hours a week

A mixture of trunking routes and bulk delivery work

About the role

You’ll be delivering products in bulk to a number of our depots where you may need to assist with loading and unloading your vehicle at sites. You will be required to do some bulk work as part of the rota. This is customer facing delivering directly into our customer premises. Your Brakes journey will start with an induction including time on the road with another driver whilst you are understanding the role. Our ongoing coaching means you can develop at your own pace. Where could you go with Brakes? With pathways in everything from fleet management to planning and leadership roles, it’s up to you.

About you

You will be a qualified HGV Driver with solid previous experience of driving class 1 vehicles in a similar role. While you will be out on the road on your own, you’ll still need to have strong teamwork skills to liaise with the wider distribution team.
