Job summary

Brakes is recruiting in Reading for a Trainee HGV Class 2 Driver. Start as a Van Driver delivering to locations, with a view to gaining Class 2 within 6 months via an award-winning development programme. You will perform daily vehicle checks and DVSA compliance, progressing through comprehensive training and induction.

The role offers a clear progression path, starting with a van route, and includes a structured induction, shift work, and potential benefits as you advance in the programme.

Qualifications

• Ambition to become a qualified HGV 2 Driver through the company programme.

A satisfying role

Start your new professional driving career with world-class, award-winning training and high operational standards. You’ll join us initially as a Van Driver – as the face of our business, delivering both food and non-food products to multiple locations throughout the day. Your route might not be the same from one day to the next, but we can guarantee you'll meet a variety of customers along the way.

You will also be responsible forregular checks on your multi-temperature van and DVSA compliance. Your journey with us willstartwith a full induction and before you know it, you will have moved onto our award-winning HGV Development Programme which will see you gain your Class 2 Driver qualification within 6 months, then the sky's the limit.
