Job summary

Eland Cables in the United Kingdom is seeking a Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team. You will deliver goods using curtain side and flatbed trailers, ensuring loads are secured and arrive on time.

You will perform daily safety checks, maintain open communication with the transport team, and participate in regular training. Benefits include a competitive salary, bonus scheme, and full PPE.

Qualifications

• Must hold UK Class 1 licence.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Experience delivering loads to customer sites is advantageous.
• Hiab and Moffett licences desirable.
• Able to work to deadlines and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods using curtain side and flatbed trailers.
• Load and secure goods with straps and other devices.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and report issues.
• Communicate progress with transport team to meet customer expectations.

The Role

As a Class 1 Driver you will:

• Use curtain side and flatbed trailers, to deliver goods to destinations in a timely manner.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, chains and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using the company phone to maintain compliance with the highest standards for vehicle safety and reliability.
• Excellent communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are achieved.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead if the latest industry standards and best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Must hold a UK valid Class of Licence for the vehicle.
• Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
• Experience of delivering loads directly to customer sites is advantageous.
• Additional qualifications and licences Hiab and Moffett (desirable)
• Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Spending nights away UK and EU destinations
• Confident, polite, and a team player.
• Good geographical knowledge.
• Physically fit, flexible approach, hardworking, and self-motivated.
