Job summary

Think Recruitment, in partnership with a Brentwood local authority, is seeking an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver/Loader for a Monday–Friday role finishing by 3:30 PM. Immediate start with 37 hours per week and top-tier pay. Location: Brentwood (CM13 3BH).

You will operate Class 2 refuse collection vehicles, assist with loading, and ensure safe handling of bins while delivering timely rounds and maintaining community service standards.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Experience in refuse, waste collection or HGV driving desirable.
• Physically fit for outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player in a fast-paced crew environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive modern HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicles on scheduled routes.
• Assist with loading refuse and recycling with the crew.
• Ensure safe and correct handling of domestic bins and recycling receptacles.
• Complete collection rounds in a professional, timely manner.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and report vehicle/route issues.

We are partnering with a leading, highly reputable local authority based in Brentwood in the waste and recycling sector to find an energetic HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver/Loader to join their busy team in Brentwood. This is a fantastic, fast-paced temporary ongoing contract with an immediate start available!

The Role

What you need to bring

• Licences: A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence, current CPC, and a Digital Tachograph Card.
• Experience: Previous experience in refuse, waste collection, or commercial HGV driving is highly desirable.
• Fitness: Physically fit, full of energy, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
