Job summary

Proactive Staff is looking for reliable Refuse Drivers (HGV Class 2) for a local council. The role combines driving duties with assisting refuse collection and cleansing tasks. Immediate start available, with a 2pm-10pm shift from Monday to Friday and no weekend work.

You will drive the refuse truck on designated routes, stay on schedule, clear fly tipping, and help keep highways and public spaces tidy. PPE and uniform are provided, with a path to a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class 2 HGV licence, Digital Tachograph and CPC.
• Previous experience is preferred but not required.
• Physical fitness for hands-on tasks during collections.
• Ability to provide recent work references.

Role overview:

You will be responsible for safely driving the refuse truck along the designated routes and stay on schedule for efficient collections as well as clearing fly tipping from open spaces and public hotspots, litter pick designated areas and carry out other cleansing functions such as sweeping and keeping the highways, footpaths and grassed area tidy.
