Job summary

HG Recruitment is seeking reliable HGV Class 2 Tramper drivers based in Yeovil. Start times 05:00–06:00 with temp-to-perm opportunities and regular ongoing shifts. Deliver garage doors nationwide in a box/drop-body vehicle, use load restraints, and unload with tail lift.

You will perform safety checks and stay in touch with the transport team throughout each shift. Eligible candidates hold UK HGV Class 2 licence, Driver CPC, Tachograph Card, and have up to 6 points.

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV Class 2 licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 6 points on your licence.
• Minimum 6 months driving experience.
• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and Working Time rules.

Responsibilities

• Deliver garage doors nationwide to independent businesses and consumers.
• Secure loads using load restraints and strap equipment.
• Unload deliveries using tail lift or dolly and park at designated bays.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and report any issues.
• Maintain regular communication with the transport team and support routes.

Pay Rates: holiday pay is accrued Days £16.00 Night Out Allowance £25.00 per night (where applicable) ***Estimated weekly pay £720 based on 45 hrs, plus Night Out Allowance where applicable***

The role Temp-to-Perm opportunity with regular, ongoing work. Start times between 05:00 and 06:00 . Deliver garage doors nationwide to independent businesses and consumers using a box/drop-body vehicle. Safely secure loads using appropriate load-restraint equipment, including ratchet straps. Position and drop/remove the load box at designated delivery bays where required, following the correct site and vehicle procedures. Unload deliveries using the vehicle's tail lift and dolly. A good level of physical fitness is required, as the role involves regular manual handling and manoeuvring of large garage doors. Complete comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks, ensuring the vehicle remains safe and roadworthy. Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing updates to support smooth day-to-day operations. Undertake long-distance driving and nights out where required.

Requirements
