Job summary

Pertemps Bristol Industrial is recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver in Bristol. The role covers 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday (39 hours weekly) with overtime opportunities. You will drive, load and unload waste and recycling materials across the Bristol area, providing good customer service.

Applicants should hold a valid Class 2 licence with Driver CPC and Tachograph Card. Physical outdoor work and teamwork are essential, with long-term opportunities potentially leading to permanent

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Knowledge of HGV driving regulations and tachograph rules.

• Reliable, safety-conscious, and a strong team player.
• Desirable: waste/recycling or commercial collections experience.

Responsibilities

HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver BristolWe are recruitingHGV Class 2 Refuse Driver for ongoing, full-time work supporting waste and recycling collection services across Bristol.

• Monday to Friday
• 6:00am 2:30pm shifts (39 hours per week)
• £17.27 per hour
• Overtime after 39 hours. Lots of overtime available
• Long-term opportunities with the potential for permanent employment

This is a physically active role combining HGV driving with loading duties. You'll be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 vehicle while working as part of a team to collect, transport and unload waste and recycling materials across the Bristol area.

The Role

• Safely drive and operate HGV Class 2 vehicles in line with legal requirements and company procedures.
• Collect, load, transport and unload waste and recycling materials.
• Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly.
• Tip vehicles at approved recycling and waste facilities.
• Accurately complete paperwork and electronic records using handheld devices.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
• Deliver excellent customer service and communicate professionally with colleagues, customers and the public.
• Work flexibly across different operational locations when required.
• Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures.

This is a hands-on outdoor role involving regular lifting, moving bins and recycling containers, and working in all weather conditions. It's ideal for drivers who enjoy staying active and being part of a supportive team.

Requirements
