Job summary

Johnsons UK Services Ltd in Edinburgh seeks an experienced Porter/Driver with a Full Class 2 Driving Licence to join our team. You will deliver and load/unload a range of goods, from furniture to fine art, ensuring the safe journey and care of clients' items.

The role requires compliance with tachograph procedures, daily vehicle checks, and delivering excellent customer service in a premium logistics environment.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 licence is essential.
• Digital tachograph driver card is essential.
• CPC (Drivers Qualification Card) is essential.
• Knowledge of tachograph procedures is essential.
• ADR - Packages is preferred.
• Team leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle daily checks for allocated HGV Class 2/7.5t/3.5t vehicle.
• Ensure vehicle is equipped with required specialist equipment.
• Lifting and packing laboratory equipment, furniture, fine art, etc.
• Take goods in or out of storage.
• Lift and move loads over 25kg.
• Uphold high standards on site and safety.
• Ensure exceptional customer care and service.
• Comply with company and health and safety procedures.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Porter/Driver with a Full Class 2 Driving License to join our Johnson's team in our Edinburgh location. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and loading/unloading a range of goods from furniture to high valued artwork. You'll be part of a team delivering a premium service, loading and unloading, ensuring great care is put into the safe journey of our client's valued items and your colleagues.

• HGV Class 2 Driving Licence (essential)
• Team leading and/or supervisory experience (preferred)
• Digital Tacho Driver Card (essential)
• Drivers Qualification Card (CPC) (essential)
• Knowledge of established legal tachograph procedures (essential)
• ADR - Packages (preferred)

Daily Responsibilities

• Vehicle daily checks of your allocated HGV Class 2/7.5t /3.5t vehicle.
• Ensuring the vehicle is equipped with all the relevant specialist equipment required for the days operation.
• Lifting and packing a range of Laboratory equipment, furniture, fine art and more.
• Taking goods in or out of storage.
• Lifting and moving loads in excess of 25kg.
• Ensuring the highest of standards are met when on site.
• Responsible for your health and safety or you and colleagues.
• Always deliver excellent customer care and service.
• Complying with all company and health and safety procedures.

Enhanced Criminal Record Check

You will be required to undertake an "Enhanced Criminal Record Check" or "Baseline Security Check" which will involve providing three years of address and employment history, valid ID and a character reference.
