Job summary

Catering in Rushden is looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our transport team. The role involves multi-drop deliveries across UK routes, with guaranteed 50 hours per week and flexible day/night shifts.

You must hold a valid HGV Class 2 license, CPC and tachograph card, with at least 2 years' UK driving experience and a clean licence. We offer permanent employment, healthcare after 6 months, and in-house CPC training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years HGV Class 2 driving experience in the UK.
• Aged 25+ due to insurance requirements.
• Valid HGV Class 2 (Cat C) licence.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 3 penalty points.
• Reliable and strong time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Completing up to 7 deliveries per day on assigned routes.
• Operating a Class 2 vehicle safely and compliantly.
• Manual offloading using an electric pump truck.
• Some deliveries may be offloaded by depot staff.
• Ensuring deliveries are accurate and on time.
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects.
• Maintaining delivery paperwork and PODs.
• Adhering to driver hours, WTD and transport legislation.
• Providing a professional and customer-focused service.

Job Title: HGV Class 2 Driver

Location: Rushden, NN10

Employment Type: Full Time, permanent

Pay: £16.22ph

About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our transport team based in Rushden, NN10. This role involves multi-drop deliveries, up to 7 drops per day across a variety of locations including Swindon, Portsmouth, Southampton, Kent and Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver who is comfortable with multi-drop work and who takes pride in delivering excellent service. Our client offers flexibility across shift patterns involving day work and/or nights out for drivers who are seeking tramping. Nights out are paid at £26.20 per night out.

Key Responsibilities

• Completing up to 7 deliveries per day across assigned routes
• Operating a Class 2 vehicle in a safe and compliant manner
• Manual offloading of product using an electric pump truck
• Some deliveries will be offloaded by depot staff
• Ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately and on time
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
• Maintaining delivery paperwork and PODs
• Adhering to driver hours, WTD and road transport legislation
• Providing a professional and customer-focused service at all delivery points

Driver Requirements

• Minimum 2 years HGV Class 2 driving experience within the UK
• Aged 25 years or over (insurance requirement)
• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• No more than 3 penalty points
• No major endorsements (DD, DR, IN etc.)
• Comfortable with manual handling duties
• Strong reliability and time management skills
