Job summary

People Solutions are recruiting an HGV Class 2 Driver for our client in Northampton, Northamptonshire. The role offers £17.75 per hour, Monday to Friday shifts, ongoing regular work, and potential permanent opportunities.

Expect to join a team delivering pallets and packages, operating Class 2 vehicles, and maintaining safety standards. Weekly pay and a supportive environment are available.

Qualifications

• A valid UK Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence.
• 12 months' Class 2 driving experience.
• Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
• Knowledge of road traffic laws and driver regulations.
• No more than six penalty points.
• No major endorsement codes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multi-drop deliveries to customers.
• Deliver pallets, cages and packages safely.
• Operate Class 2 vehicles with care and efficiency.
• Perform pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections.
• Ensure loads are secured and transported safely.
• Follow delivery schedules and company procedures.
• Communicate effectively with transport teams and customers.
• Report vehicle defects promptly.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, Multi-Drop Driver, Delivery Driver or Pallet Network Driver.

Day-to-Day Duties

• Completing multi-drop deliveries
• Delivering pallets, cages and packages
• Operating and driving Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre-shift and post-shift vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are secured safely and correctly before transportation
• Adhering to road traffic laws, company procedures and delivery schedules
• Communicating effectively with transport teams and customers
• Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance issues promptly

Essential Skills

• A valid UK Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence
• A minimum of 12 months' Category C (Class 2) driving experience
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
• No major endorsement codes
• A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• A good understanding of road traffic laws and driver regulations

Desirable Experience

• Previous commercial driving experience
• Multi-drop delivery experience
• Previous pallet network delivery experience
