Job summary

Epwin Group is seeking an experienced HGV Driver to deliver and collect goods across the UK and Ireland in line with our operator’s licence. You will ensure on-time deliveries, adhere to drivers hours, and follow the Transport department’s schedule.

You must hold a valid HGV licence and CPC where required, with strong numeracy and literacy, and a commitment to safety and compliance across all activities.

Qualifications

• Excellent transport and compliance knowledge.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• HGV licence holder.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to operator license requirements.
• Ensure drivers’ hours regulations are followed.
• Comply with Working Time Directive (WTD).
• Maintain Driver CPC qualifications up to date.
• Keep driving licences entitlements current and report changes.
• Adhere to highways laws and safety standards.
• Ensure loads are carried safely and equipment is maintained.
• Communicate information via appropriate channels.
• Promote continuous improvement in service and efficiency.
• Undertake duties as directed by the senior manager.

Job description

The HGV driver will deliver and collect goods throughout the UK & Ireland in accordance to the restrictions of the group Operators Licence. The key objectives are to ensure goods are delivered on time in line with the delivery schedule set out by the Transport department.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure compliance in line with operator’s license.
• Ensure drivers’ hours regulations are always adhered to
• Ensure WTD (Working Time Directive) rules are always adhered to.
• Ensure Driver CPC qualifications are kept up to date.
• Ensure driving licence entitlements are kept up to date, reporting any changes as soon as they are known.
• Adherence to highways laws always.
• Ensure compliance to HSE standards.
• Ensure load is always carried safely.
• Ensure equipment is always in good working order.
• Always follow site rules.
• Set a professional and good example to all.
• Communicate information via the relevant communication channels.
• Ensure operational processes and procedures are followed.
• Alert relevant people to process and product concerns and rectify.
• Safeguard property issued by the company.
• Ensure workplace is clean and tidy – all housekeeping procedures are followed and the workplace is safe.
• Ensure the wearing of appropriate uniform and PPE.
• Transfer the knowledge and skills among the team.
• Promote continuous improvement to develop service and efficiency.
• Undertake reasonable duties as and when required/as directed by the senior manager.

• Good level of numeracy and literacy
• HGV licence

• Ability to make decisions and elevate if necessary.

• Must be willing to undergo Moffet training provided by Epwin.
